How the Society came into being...
The Society was born out of a desire to focus more on the person, presence, and power of the Spirit both in academic discourse and for the life of the church. We saw a gap in Western academic spaces for attending to the third person of the Trinity from a charismatic perspective and our hope is to fill that gap. We are also aware of the growing number of charismatics who have recently gone into academic theology and so we welcome the opportunity to engage with one another’s work.
Although the Society is run by a group of charismatic scholars affiliated with WTC Theology, we welcome contributors from all traditions and backgrounds who would like to engage in the conversation. All theological disciplines are welcome and a particular focus is given to biblical studies, systematic, and historical theology. The society is committed to cultivating a global community of scholars who will benefit both the academy and the church.
